Bond Auto to Present ACT's $10,000 To Win Labor Day Classic

BURLINGTON, VT -- The American-Canadian Tour (ACT), Thunder Road International Speedbowl and Bond Auto Parts announced today (Tuesday, June 28) at a press conference in Burlington, VT that Bond Auto Parts has signed on as the entitlement sponsor of the ACT Tour's $10,000 to win Super Series event at the Barre, VT high banked, quarter-mile oval on September 4th.
      "We are delighted that Bond Auto Parts will be rejoining Thunder Road's family of sponsors," commented Tom Curley, promoter and general manager of the 46 year-old stock car race track.  "Bond Auto Parts was one of the first companies to become involved with the track back in the 1980's when Ken (Squier, track co-owner) and I regained control of Thunder Road back from the courts in the early 1980's.  As their family based company grew their marketing and promotional focus shifted but we always enjoyed seeing the Bond family members at the track."
      "Since the Bond Auto Parts Labor Day Classic kicks off the month-long ACTion Super Series, there will be a tremendous amount of interest in the event beyond the $10,000 on the table for the winner," Curley continued.  "Thunder Road is known nationally as a tough, handling race track and the opportunity to take down a race of the caliber of the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic will surely bring out an impressive field of cars."

      As part of Thunder Road's Labor Day Classic, Bond Auto Parts will provide a Vermont National Guard "Family Day" at the track on Saturday, September 3, complete with bar-be-que at the track's Forsythe Hill pavilion.  Following Saturday's activities, which include qualifying for the Tiger Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Powershift Warriors as well as practice for the Late Model competitors, there will be a Fan bar-be-que and dance Saturday night.  Details on these events are forthcoming.  Bond Auto Parts is headquartered in Barre, VT, and has over 30 locations in New Hampshire and Vermont.
